Über
We are looking for a "street-smart" Logistics Specialist such as retired Dispatcher with deep roots in the gravel and aggregate industry. Your primary mission is to help us win bids by sourcing the most competitive haul rates from point A to point B across multiple states.
What You'll Do:
• Aggressive Sourcing: Contact and vet trucking companies to find available capacity for specific project routes.
• Rate Negotiation: Leverage your industry knowledge to negotiate the best possible "per ton" or "per load" rates.
• Market Intelligence: Provide real-time feedback on regional hauling price trends to help our bidding team stay competitive.
• Network Building: Maintain a database of reliable carriers for various gravel and dirt-work projects.
Requirements:
• Industry Veteran: 5+ years of experience in dispatching, freight brokerage, or trucking management or similar experience (specifically in aggregate/construction).
• Niche Knowledge: You understand the difference between end dumps, belly dumps, and the weight regulations that affect gravel pricing.
• Reliability: Available for roughly 4 hours daily, 9 am to 5 pm EST, to respond to fast-moving bid deadlines.
Contract duration of more than 6 months. with 40 hours per week.
Mandatory skills: Logistics Management, Price & Quote Negotiation, Microsoft Excel
