Position Summary
Tube-Fab Ltd. is seeking an experienced and motivated Methods & Manufacturing Process Engineer to support our aerospace manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in interpreting engineering data, developing manufacturing processes, supporting production, and serving as a technical liaison between customers and internal departments.
This role requires strong technical expertise in aerospace manufacturing, tubular fabrications, welding assemblies, and process development within an AS9100 and Nadcap environment.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret and analyze engineering drawings, 3D models, and specifications for aerospace production and manufacturing operations, including:
Tubular bending and fabrication
Design and manufacture of welded assemblies
Swaged and formed components
Review customer-supplied engineering data and work packages to support the quotation process.
Perform complete Contract Reviews on purchase orders.
Develop and generate:
Bend data for tubular fabrications
Work Instructions
Data Packages
Process Maps
Job Travellers
Create internal drawings and Mylar templates to support production floor activities.
Conduct time studies and job reviews, analyze work methods, and report on production inefficiencies with recommendations for improvement.
Serve as a technical point of contact for customers to resolve engineering and manufacturing matters.
Perform:
FMEAs
Root Cause Analysis
Troubleshooting of daily engineering, production, and quality issues
Collaborate cross-functionally to design tools, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment.
Work closely with all Tube-Fab Ltd. departments and facilities to gain comprehensive knowledge of work centers and operations supporting TFL's product lines.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Process & Planning Engineer or Mechanical Engineer in an AS9100 and Nadcap-certified environment.
Bachelor's Degree in:
Mechanical Engineering
Industrial Engineering
Engineering Technology (or equivalent experience)
Experience in aerospace manufacturing required.
Strong knowledge of:
AutoCAD & Catia
Mastery of SolidWorks Required
Other relevant CAD software (TubeCad considered an asset)
Solid understanding of:
Metal forming and bending
Welding
Finishing and chemical processing
Strong working knowledge of:
GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation
Lean Manufacturing principles
Microsoft Office applications
Experience with JobBoss ERP preferred.
Excellent communication skills in English.
Self-motivated team leader with strong problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of welding and chemical processing considered an asset.
