Are you a skilled Forklift Operator? We are hiring in Washington, D.C.! This is a vital role within our logistics operations, requiring proficiency in safely maneuvering forklifts to handle a wide range of materials. You will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, transporting goods within the warehouse, and ensuring proper storage of inventory. Your expertise in forklift operation is crucial for maintaining efficiency and upholding our high standards for safety and accuracy in our logistics hub. We need individuals who are reliable, safety-conscious, and possess excellent operational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach) to move, stack, and position materials.
- Load and unload freight from trailers and containers accurately and efficiently.
- Transport inventory to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Perform pre-shift inspections of forklift equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Follow all traffic and safety rules within the warehouse environment.
- Ensure strict adherence to all company safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and stock verification.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Support the overall logistics and warehouse team to achieve operational goals.
- Capability for significant Lifting and moving of products is required.
Qualifications:
- Current forklift operator certification and a minimum of 2 years of operational experience.
- Demonstrated ability to operate multiple types of forklifts safely and effectively.
- Solid understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent spatial reasoning and hand-eye coordination.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience with WMS is a plus.
