Join our team as a Material Handler in Grand Rapids, Michigan! We are looking for dedicated individuals to manage the flow of materials within our warehouse. This role is essential for maintaining operational efficiency and ensuring timely order fulfillment. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for receiving, stocking, picking, and staging materials throughout the facility. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to workplace safety. You will work closely with the logistics team to ensure that all materials are handled correctly and efficiently. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials for damage or discrepancies.
- Stock materials in designated warehouse locations using appropriate equipment.
- Pick and prepare materials for production or shipment according to order requests.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions.
- Support the logistics team in various warehouse functions as needed.
- Be prepared for tasks requiring significant Lifting.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely (certification may be required).
- Must be able to lift and move heavy objects, typically up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with logistics operations is a plus.
