We are actively recruiting for a Reach Truck Operator at our distribution center in Des Moines, Iowa. As a key member of our logistics team, you will operate a reach truck to efficiently move, stack, and retrieve inventory within our warehouse. This role demands precision, a strong focus on safety, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment. You will be responsible for ensuring that materials are stored correctly and are readily accessible for order fulfillment. The ideal candidate is experienced, safety-conscious, and physically capable of handling the demands of the job, including regular lifting. Our commitment to a safe workplace is unwavering; all operators must strictly follow safety regulations and consistently use provided PPE. Responsibilities:
- Operate a reach truck to move, stack, and retrieve products in racking systems.
- Conduct daily pre-operation checks of the reach truck and report any mechanical issues.
- Load and unload trailers efficiently and safely.
- Transport materials between different areas of the warehouse.
- Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy through proper placement and reporting.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and hazard-free.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Follow designated traffic routes and protocols within the facility.
- Coordinate with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth workflow.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating a reach truck in a warehouse setting.
- Valid reach truck certification or willingness to obtain one.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to perform lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Thorough knowledge of warehouse safety standards and best practices.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and possesses a strong work ethic.
- Understanding of inventory control and logistics principles is beneficial.
