Seeking a reliable Receiving Clerk to join our busy warehouse in Washington, D.C. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring that all deliveries are accurately documented, inspected, and processed efficiently. Your attention to detail will be vital in maintaining the integrity of our inventory and supporting our overall Logistics operations. You will unload trucks, verify packing lists against received items, report damages or discrepancies, and move goods to appropriate storage locations. A strong commitment to workplace Safety is essential, and we provide comprehensive training, including the proper use of required PPE . This position requires physical stamina, including the ability to perform Lifting of goods. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from trucks and verify contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies and report any issues immediately.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Move received goods to designated storage areas using pallet jacks or other equipment.
- Maintain clean and organized receiving and staging areas.
- Communicate with suppliers and internal departments regarding deliveries.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE .
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse duties as required.
- Ensure compliance with all receiving and documentation standards relevant to Logistics .
- Perform tasks that involve physical exertion, including occasional Lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a warehouse receiving role is preferred. Ability to operate a pallet jack and other material handling equipment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Understanding of warehouse operations and Logistics . Knowledge of warehouse Safety regulations and the importance of using PPE . Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for long periods and occasional Lifting . High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be reliable and punctual. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
