Join our growing team as an Inventory Control Specialist in Indianapolis, Indiana! We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with a passion for accuracy and efficiency in managing warehouse inventory. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our inventory data, conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing strategies to minimize stockouts and overstock situations. Your work will directly impact our ability to fulfill orders accurately and on time, contributing significantly to the overall success of our Logistics operations. You will work closely with the warehouse management team and other departments to ensure seamless inventory flow and efficient use of space. A strong understanding of inventory management principles and systems is essential. Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve inventory accuracy and reduce shrinkage.
- Monitor stock levels and report on inventory turnover.
- Ensure proper labeling and organization of all inventory items.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff and management to identify and resolve inventory-related issues.
- Assist in the receiving and put-away processes to ensure accurate inventory entry.
- Adhere to all warehouse Safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper use of PPE .
- Contribute to the efficiency of the overall Logistics process by maintaining accurate stock information.
- Handle and move inventory, which may involve some Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in inventory control or a related warehouse role. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office Suite. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills. Experience with cycle counting and physical inventory procedures. Knowledge of warehouse operations and Logistics . Must be able to perform tasks requiring physical exertion, including occasional Lifting and standing for extended periods. Must be knowledgeable about warehouse Safety standards and the correct use of PPE . High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field is a plus.
