We are seeking a meticulous Order Picker for our distribution center located in Richmond, Virginia. This position is key to our logistics operations, ensuring that customer orders are accurately assembled and prepared for shipment. You will be responsible for navigating the warehouse, identifying and retrieving specified items using scanning technology and pick lists. A strong commitment to safety, including the consistent use of PPE and adherence to safe lifting practices, is paramount. This role offers a dynamic work environment and the chance to contribute to our efficient supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately locate and retrieve products from warehouse shelves based on order requirements.
- Utilize handheld scanners to verify items, quantities, and update inventory status.
- Ensure the correct products and quantities are picked for each order.
- Transport picked items to staging areas for packing and shipping.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station and warehouse area.
- Strictly follow all safety regulations, including proper lifting techniques and the mandatory use of PPE.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or missing items to the supervisor promptly.
- Assist with stock replenishment and inventory control tasks.
- Operate pallet jacks or other manual lifting equipment as needed.
- Meet or exceed individual productivity and accuracy targets.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous warehouse experience, particularly in order picking, is highly desirable.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs on a regular basis.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
