Our growing logistics operation in Washington, D.C. is seeking an Order Picker to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring our customers receive their orders accurately and on time. You will be responsible for locating and picking products from various locations within the warehouse, using scanning technology and order sheets. Maintaining a safe work environment through proper practices, including the consistent use of PPE, is essential. This position offers a chance to be part of a vital distribution network and develop your skills in warehouse operations.
Responsibilities:
- Retrieve products from warehouse shelves based on order tickets or electronic data.
- Utilize scanning devices to ensure order accuracy and track inventory.
- Verify product details, quantities, and codes against order requirements.
- Transport picked items to designated staging areas for packing and shipment.
- Maintain an organized and clean workspace.
- Follow all established safety protocols, including safe lifting techniques and the mandatory use of PPE.
- Report any stock discrepancies, damaged items, or equipment issues to supervisors.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts and stocktaking activities.
- Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, or other manual lifting devices as needed.
- Meet productivity goals for order fulfillment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience as an Order Picker or in a similar warehouse setting is advantageous.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 45 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems and scanning equipment.
- Strong awareness of safety procedures and the necessity of PPE.
- Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
