We are looking for an experienced and motivated Warehouse Supervisor to lead our team in Des Moines, Iowa. As a Supervisor, you will play a critical role in overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and the highest standards of safety. You will manage a team of warehouse associates, providing guidance, training, and support to achieve operational goals. This position demands strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of logistics processes, and a commitment to fostering a positive and safe work environment. You'll be instrumental in optimizing workflows, managing inventory, and ensuring timely order fulfillment.Responsibilities:
- Supervising and coordinating daily warehouse activities, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Leading, training, and motivating a team of warehouse associates.
- Ensuring that all warehouse operations are conducted safely and in compliance with company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Monitoring team performance and productivity, setting goals, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Managing inventory accuracy through cycle counts and audits.
- Optimizing warehouse layout and workflows for maximum efficiency.
- Operating and maintaining warehouse equipment.
- Resolving operational issues and addressing employee concerns.
- Implementing and enforcing safety procedures, including regular safety meetings and inspections.
- Managing staff schedules and ensuring adequate coverage.
- Championing a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the logistics team.
- Ensuring proper lifting techniques are understood and practiced by all team members.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in warehouse supervision or a similar leadership role.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and experience implementing safety programs.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Physical ability to perform warehouse tasks when needed, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
