Job Summary:
Our Detroit, Michigan facility is looking for a meticulous Receiving Clerk to manage the inbound flow of goods. As a key player in our logistics operations, you will be responsible for accurately documenting, inspecting, and processing all incoming shipments. This role requires a keen eye for detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will ensure that all received items match purchase orders and are correctly entered into our inventory system. Responsibilities:
  • Receive and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Inspect goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
  • Accurately document all received items, noting any issues.
  • Enter receiving data into the inventory management system promptly.
  • Stage goods for put-away or direct distribution.
  • Manage and organize the receiving area to ensure efficiency and safety.
  • Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding shipment status and discrepancies.
  • Assist in resolving receiving-related issues and claims.
  • Maintain accurate records and files related to receiving activities.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of appropriate PPE.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Receiving Clerk or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including some lifting (up to 30 lbs).
  • Understanding of basic logistics and warehousing principles.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
