Become a key player in our fulfillment center as a Picker/Packer in Detroit, Michigan. This role is critical to ensuring our customers receive their orders accurately and on time. You will be responsible for accurately picking items from warehouse shelves based on order fulfillment lists and then carefully packing them for shipment. This position demands precision, speed, and a strong commitment to quality. Understanding our inventory system and working efficiently within our logistics framework are key to your success. We foster a culture of safety, mandating the use of required PPE and promoting safe working practices, including careful lifting techniques. This role involves consistent physical activity.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick products from designated warehouse locations using order pick lists or scanning devices.
- Verify picked items against order details to ensure accuracy.
- Pack items securely and efficiently into appropriate shipping containers, ensuring product protection during transit.
- Apply shipping labels and any necessary documentation to packages.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized picking and packing station.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Meet or exceed productivity and quality standards.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and stock replenishment.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the warehouse logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, order picking, or packing role is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret order fulfillment lists and product codes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with scanning technology is a plus.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and follow safety guidelines, including wearing PPE.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
