We are seeking a diligent Inventory Clerk to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This position is essential for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. The Inventory Clerk will be responsible for tracking stock levels, conducting regular inventory counts, reconciling discrepancies, and ensuring that our inventory management system is up-to-date. You will play a key role in our logistics operations by providing accurate inventory data, which is crucial for production planning, order fulfillment, and overall warehouse efficiency. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a precise inventory.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to verify stock levels.
- Investigate and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Track the movement of inventory within the warehouse.
- Identify and report damaged or expired goods.
- Assist with receiving and put-away processes to ensure proper stock placement.
- Generate inventory reports as required.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Support the logistics team by providing accurate inventory data.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives related to inventory management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an Inventory Clerk or in a similar warehouse role preferred.
- Proficiency with inventory management software or WMS.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting of items up to 30 lbs.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Knowledge of safety standards and the use of PPE.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
