Join our thriving logistics team as a Picker/Packer in Washington, D.C.! We are looking for motivated individuals to accurately pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment. This role is fundamental to our operations, ensuring that our customers receive their products quickly and correctly. You will be working in a dynamic warehouse environment where efficiency and accuracy are paramount. As a Picker/Packer, you will be responsible for fulfilling orders from various pick locations within the warehouse, ensuring that all items are handled with care and meet quality standards. Your role will directly impact customer satisfaction and the overall success of our distribution center. We value a strong work ethic and a commitment to safety.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse shelves using order lists or scanning equipment.
- Inspect picked items for damage or defects before packing.
- Pack orders securely and efficiently, using appropriate packaging materials to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify order accuracy against customer requirements.
- Label packages for shipment according to company and carrier guidelines.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the correct use of PPE and safe lifting techniques.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counts.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Picker/Packer or in a warehouse setting is an advantage.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting of items up to 40 lbs.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Basic math skills for order verification.
- Understanding of warehouse safety practices and the use of PPE.
- Familiarity with logistics and shipping processes.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
