Our logistics hub in Durham, North Carolina, is looking for a diligent Shipping Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and processing all outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently. Key duties include verifying order details, preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring all packages are properly labeled and staged for pickup. A strong attention to detail and organizational skills are crucial for success in this position. You will be working in a dynamic warehouse environment, which may involve some manual tasks such as moving boxes and occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds. Maintaining a safe workspace and adhering to all safety guidelines, including the use of designated PPE , is paramount. Familiarity with shipping software and carrier systems is a plus. Responsibilities:
- Process all outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare bills of lading, shipping labels, and other necessary documentation.
- Verify order contents against shipping manifests.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Ensure all packages are properly packed, sealed, and labeled.
- Maintain accurate shipping records.
- Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and wear required PPE .
- Assist with receiving duties as needed.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Keep the shipping area clean, organized, and hazard-free.
