As an Airside Civil Engineer based in Toronto, you will play a key role in designing, reviewing, and guiding major airside infrastructure upgrades—contributing directly to the advancement of one of the country's most impactful aviation programs.
This position requires on-site (project office) presence 5 days a week.
Your roleProvide expert guidance throughout planning, design, and delivery phases, ensuring all airside civil engineering work meets relevant codes and standards.
Ensure technical compliance during design and construction by conducting design reviews, submittal assessments, and testing oversight.
Assess alternative design proposals from contractors, evaluating feasibility and alignment with client's requirements.
Conduct Facility Alteration Permit (FAP) compliance reviews for renovations, alterations, maintenance, and new construction.
Coordinate civil, structural, and architectural technical components, establishing discipline-specific goals for the program.
Monitor designer performance through the construction phase, including RFIs, shop drawings, approvals, and deficiency resolution.
Prepare management-level progress reports, highlighting risks, opportunities, and design progress.
Support, mentor, and coach client's personnel in their technical and career development.
Minimum 7 years of experience in civil, site development, construction, or airport engineering with strong knowledge of airfield pavement structural design.
Demonstrated experience applying TP312 (4th and 5th editions) and international aerodrome standards (ICAO, FAA).
Proficiency in engineering design tools such as MicroStation, Bentley InRoads/OpenRoads, AviPLAN, and AutoTURN.
Extensive knowledge of CSA design codes, civil construction standards, and Ontario highway geometric design standards.
Strong proficiency with Bluebeam and Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to manage schedules, priorities, and stakeholder engagement effectively
Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $100,200 – $137,700 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
