We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in Detroit, Michigan. This critical role ensures the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory, playing a vital part in our overall supply chain operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring stock levels, conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions to maintain optimal inventory accuracy. You will work closely with warehouse associates and management to identify and resolve issues related to stock movement, receiving, and shipping.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to ensure seamless inventory flow.
- Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of all inventory items.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment as needed.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, including proper use of PPE .
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory management processes.
- The ability to handle moderate Lifting (up to 50 lbs) may be required for certain tasks.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar role within a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices.
- Proficiency with WMS software and data analysis tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience operating material handling equipment is a plus.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to all Logistics protocols.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
