Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick, pack, and assemble customer orders for shipment.
- Generate and apply shipping labels, including domestic and international documentation.
- Coordinate with freight carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx, LTL) for timely pickups and deliveries.
- Verify the accuracy of outbound shipments against sales orders and packing slips.
- Load outgoing freight onto trucks, ensuring secure and safe transit.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area, adhering to all logistics standards.
- Conduct regular checks of shipping supplies and reorder as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management tasks and cycle counts within the shipping department.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in shipping and receiving processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a shipping or logistics role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common carrier portals.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to perform consistent lifting up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Understanding of safe lifting techniques and warehouse safety best practices.
- Knowledge of required PPE and its importance in a shipping environment.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic logistics setting.
