Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week, No Overtime
Pay Rate Range: $55 to $60/hr
Key Projects & Responsibilities
Fine-tune and improve sophisticated software implementation projects
Gather and analyse system requirements and document technical specifications
Design and develop software solutions to meet client and data needs
Analyze and implement system software and customize it to client requirements
Prepare detailed software design and test documentation
Implement new programs or modify existing programs to meet new standards
Author automated tests for developed programs
Perform post-implementation validation and resolve defects identified during testing
Candidate Requirements
Disqualifiers
Insufficient proficiency in reading and writing code
Less than 3 years of relevant work experience
Ideal vs. Average Candidate
Systems & OS-Level Engineering
Write clean, maintainable systems-level code in C and C++ Work effectively in a Windows OS development environment (strongly preferred)
Independently debug and fix issues in legacy software using instrumentation, traces, and tools such as Windows Debugger
Collect and analyze WPP/ETW traces to diagnose complex system-level issues
Testing, Automation & Pipeline Reliability
Develop and enhance automated test suites to improve validation coverage and reliability
Troubleshoot, triage, and resolve failures in test pipelines across multiple projects
Modify and enhance test automation across network protocols and network security components
Run periodic manual tests for VPN, IPSec Connection Security tunnels, and Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL)
Networking & Security
Analyze and work with networking protocols such as IPSec, TCP, and QUIC
Support VPN technologies, IPSec-based Connection Security, and Software-Defined Networking (SDN)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
5-7 years of relevant experience
Strong foundation in computer science (data structures, algorithms, software design)
Experience designing and developing large systems software
Experience troubleshooting and unit testing both new and legacy production systems
Proven ability in programming, problem diagnosis, and issue resolution
Required Technical Skills
Strong operating systems knowledge with hands-on systems-level programming
C/C++ systems development experience (required)
Proficiency with debugging tools: Windows Debugger, Wireshark, gdb, tcpdump
Experience collecting and analyzing WPP/ETW traces
Knowledge of networking protocols: IPSec, TCP, QUIC
Experience with VPN technologies and Software-Defined Networking
Expertise with PowerShell and YAML
Experience working in both Windows and Linux environments
Ideal Candidate Background
