Overview
The Non-profit Business Analyst is responsible for designing, maintaining, and delivering data-driven reporting solutions that support program operations, grant requirements, stakeholder needs, and organizational decision-making across the company. This role focuses heavily on developing and optimizing Power BI dashboards and reports, ensuring data quality across systems, and translating business questions into actionable insights. Working collaboratively with internal teams, the Business Analyst ensures reporting accuracy, maintains data workflows, and supports the organization's mission through reliable, timely, and transparent analytics.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting & Dashboard Development
Build, maintain, and deliver recurring and ad hoc Power BI reports and dashboards to support program, grant, and operational needs. Translate reporting requests into clear, accurate, and user-friendly visualizations and data outputs. Adapt dashboards and reporting structures as organizational needs, priorities, or requirements evolve. Data Analysis & Insights
Analyze data to answer business questions, identify trends, and surface insights that support program outcomes and grant compliance. Provide clear, meaningful interpretations of data for both technical and non-technical audiences. Data Management & Quality
Collect, clean, validate, and organize data from multiple systems, including Apricot, HubSpot, Snowflake, and internal databases. Develop and maintain SQL queries and data models to prepare datasets for reliable reporting and analysis. Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across reporting sources. Process & Workflow Support
Maintain and support data workflows, pipelines, and reporting processes. Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and improve reporting efficiency. Document data sources, definitions, processes, and reporting standards for organizational transparency and repeatability. Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with internal teams to understand what data is collected, how it is tracked, and what insights are needed. Clarify and refine stakeholder reporting needs, proactively seeking additional context when required. Communicate data findings, assumptions, limitations, and recommendations clearly to non-technical audiences. Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in data analytics, information systems, nonprofit management, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field-or equivalent practical experience. Experience working in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization, with knowledge of program, grant, and compliance reporting needs. Proven experience designing and maintaining reports and dashboards in
Power BI , including data modeling and DAX. Strong proficiency in
SQL
for data extraction, transformation, and analysis. Experience working with multiple data sources and systems, ideally including
Apricot ,
HubSpot , and/or
Snowflake . Experience developing and maintaining KPI, outcome, or grant-related reporting for internal and external stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple reporting requests independently and adapt to shifting organizational priorities. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data validation skills. Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain data to non-technical audiences. Who You Are
