Border Protection Specialist

As a Border Patrol Agent (BPA), you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our nation's borders and protecting the American people. You will be part of an elite team of highly trained professionals who are dedicated to enforcing immigration laws and preventing illicit activity.

• Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration laws
• Inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations

You will work closely with other law enforcement agencies to ensure that our borders are secure and that those who pose a threat to national security are identified and apprehended.

The BPA position is a career ladder opportunity, with opportunities for promotion based on performance. As you gain experience, you can move up through the ranks to positions such as Sector Chief or Deputy Sector Chief.

• You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
  •Apprehending violators of state, federal or immigration laws
  •Preventing smuggling activities along U.S. land borders
