Border Patrol Agent

• Detect and question people suspected of violating immigration laws, inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.


• Pursue undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at the borders by maintaining surveillance from covert positions.


• Maintain contact with informants and track individuals who violate customs laws.

1. A minimum of one year of work experience in a field related to law enforcement that demonstrates ability to make sound decisions under pressure, learn regulations through training, gather information accurately. Or,
   lia bachelor's degree or completion of four-year course study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree.
   The GL-7 grade level requires specialized work experience such as making arrests after completing required training; dealing effectively with people; analyzing information rapidly.
