Border Patrol Agent Position

Job Description:

• To protect U.S. borders from illegal activity by detecting, questioning, and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers of noncitizens at or near the border.


• To perform farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols, and transportation checks to prevent contraband smuggling.


• To patrol international boundaries using vehicles, horses, vessels watercraft off-road vehicles ATVs snowmobiles motorcycles etc.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• A minimum one year general work experience demonstrating ability to take charge sound decisions maintain composure under stress learn regulations methods techniques classroom training on-the-job instruction gather concise information questioning observation documents records OR bachelor's degree four-year course study leading bachelor's degree accredited college university combination work experience education calculated resume official unofficial transcripts application EXPERIENCE required specialized show skills judgments decisions use firearms effectively people courteous manner law enforcement matters analyze information rapidly prompt decisions arrest apply these skills criminal code enforcement determining violations laws correctional rehabilitation security military etc
