Typical assignments include:
- Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration laws
- Maintaining surveillance from covert positions using infrared scopes during night operations
- Interpreting tracks and marks to determine citizenship or violations
Required Skills & Qualifications,
To qualify for this position, applicants must have one (1) year of general work experience demonstrating ability to take charge under stressful situations or hold a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement. Experience can also come from law enforcement or military backgrounds where duties involved similar responsibilities.
The GL-5 grade requires proof of U.S. residency for three out five years while candidates applying at GL-7 should demonstrate specialized skills like sound judgment when making arrests after required training.
