We are currently seeking an R&D Engineer to join our team of passionate innovators and engineers.

You will need to live within commuting distance to our 50 Wellington Street East, STE 400, Ontario, Toronto

You will need to be in the office 3-4 days a week.

What you will do
  • Design, develop, modify, and verify mechanical components for medical devices under supervision.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management, to support project execution.
  • Conduct research, assist with prototyping, and perform bench testing to support product development activities.
  • Support structured problem solving and root cause analysis; evaluate and recommend solutions aligned with design requirements.
  • Develop understanding of product use, clinical procedures, and customer needs, and translate them into design inputs.
  • Apply fundamental industry standards, regulatory design requirements, and appropriate test strategies.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, including Design History File deliverables, in compliance with design control procedures.
  • Follow Quality Management System practices, learning and applying R&D processes such as design controls, risk management, and professional ownership in assigned work.
What you need Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Bio-Medical, or related discipline.
  • 2+ years of work experience
  • Fundamental knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering practices and tools, design principles.
  • Basic knowledge of design and concept generation, CAD or CAE modeling tools (SolidWorks preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous design experience with magnetic tracking and 5 or 6 DOF surgical tools
  • Experience with CAD/CAE tools (Creo, ProE, SolidWorks preferred) and the ability to create, read, and interpret engineering drawings and models, including application of GD&T principles.
  • Working knowledge of engineering analysis methods, basic statistical tools, materials, and manufacturing processes used in product development.
  • Hands-on prototyping experience (mechanical assemblies, PCBs, soldering, 3D printing, firmware flashing) with familiarity in medical device quality systems, including ISO 13485, NC/CAPA processes, and PLM change controls (ECO/ECR/MCO).

$79,900 - $106,500 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
