The Service Advisor acts as the central communication link
between customers, technicians, and the Service Manager. This role ensures
exceptional customer service, accurate work order processing, and efficient
coordination of service operations. The Service Advisor supports both
administrative and technical functions within the service department to keep
operations running smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Communication

  • Deliver
    exceptional customer service in person, over the phone, and via email.
  • Serve
    as the primary communication hub between customers, technicians, and the
    Service Manager.
  • Provide
    technical support and guidance to customers and technicians as needed.
  • Offer
    estimates to customers, obtain approvals, and keep them updated throughout
    the service process.

Service Operations

  • Schedule
    and manage service appointments while ensuring timely follow-ups with
    customers and suppliers.
  • Work
    within OEM programs to follow service protocols and document service
    activity.
  • Open,
    track, update, and close service work orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Participate
    in the prioritization of technician assignments and respond to urgent or
    high-priority service needs.
  • Ensure
    safe work practices are followed within the service environment.

Administrative & Financial Duties

  • Collect
    payments and assist with monitoring and following up on accounts
    receivable.
  • Maintain
    clear documentation, notes, and status updates on all ongoing work.
  • Assist
    with parts lookups, ordering, and inventory coordination as required.
  • Support
    overall shop organization and step in with additional duties to maintain
    smooth daily operations.

Skills and Experience

  • Excellent
    verbal and written communication skills—professional, clear, and
    solution-oriented.
  • Highly
    organized with strong attention to detail; able to manage multiple
    priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong
    computer and system navigation skills, including scheduling software and
    inventory systems.
  • Ability
    to read parts libraries, service manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Industry
    knowledge of agricultural equipment is a strong asset.
  • Journeyman
    ticket or equivalent technical background is a strong asset.
  • Proactive,
    self-motivated, and collaborative approach to work.
  • Dependable,
    respectful, and committed to exceptional customer service.
  • Valid
    driver's license required.
  • Willingness
    to work scheduled weekends or evenings for on-call duties.

Work Environment

  • This
    role is performed in a combination of office, shop, and customer-facing
    environments.
  • Exposure
    to a service shop environment, including noise, moving equipment, tools,
    and occasional outdoor conditions.
  • Regular
    interaction with technicians, customers, suppliers, and service
    management.
  • Work
    may involve interruptions, shifting priorities, and urgent service
    demands.

Physical Demands

  • Ability
    to sit, stand, walk, and move between office and shop environments
    throughout the day.
  • Occasional
    lifting of up to 25–40 lbs (e.g., small parts, shop materials).
  • Frequent
    use of a computer, phone, and other office equipment.
  • May
    require bending, climbing short ladders, or reaching for parts or
    equipment.
  • Ability
    to work safely around machinery, tools, and agricultural equipment.

Employment Conditions

  • Full-time
    position with potential for extended hours during peak seasons.
  • On-call
    rotation may apply depending on seasonal demand.
  • Must
    maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Compliance
    with company safety standards and PPE requirements is mandatory
