Shipping & Receiving Associate is essential for maintaining the flow of inventory by managing both incoming inventory and supplies and outgoing customer orders.

Job Summary Hopson Grace is a luxury Home Design Showroom located in downtown Toronto. We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end movement of goods, including unloading deliveries, the receipt of vendor orders, inspecting incoming materials for quality, and preparing outgoing shipments with high accuracy. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and is proficient in digital inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receiving: Unload delivery trucks, verify contents against purchase orders/packing slips, and inspect for any damages or discrepancies which must be communicated in a timely manner to the Logistics Specialist and Sales Manager.
  • Inventory Management: Organize and store items in designated warehouse areas and update the inventory management system.
  • Shipping: Pick, pack, and label outgoing orders with expediency and accuracy and attention to packaging excellence; determine the most efficient shipping method based on weight and destination and update tracking details for customers and on customers' orders for easy follow-up and status reports.
  • Documentation: Prepare essential shipping documents, customs forms, and commercial invoices.
  • Communication: Coordinate with carriers (e.g., UPS, Canada Post) and communicate with the full HG team a summary of what has been received and the quantity available -after fulfilling special orders.
  • This role works closely with the Inventory Specialist, Operations Assistant, Marketing Specialist and Store Manager
  • This position reports to the Store Manager
  • Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a clean workspace, and adhere to safety regulations and practices. Provide custodial duties such as snow shovelling and driveway/sidewalk clearance, showroom window cleaning etc.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience: 1–2 years of previous experience in a warehouse or logistics role preferably within a retail setting.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets; experience with inventory management systems.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50–75 lbs frequently as well as frequent reaching and bending.
  • Key Traits: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy. Must be a clear and effective communicator. Excel at providing excellent customer service, both internally and externally

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
