Junior Litigation Lawyer

Metcalfe, Blainey & Burns LLP is a boutique law firm provides a wide range of legal services in areas such as real estate, corporate, commercial, wills & estates and litigation. We have a new full-time opening for a Junior Litigation Lawyer to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with and manage files involving civil litigation matters.
• Draft pleadings, affidavits, motion materials, correspondence, and settlement documents.
• Conduct legal research.
• Attend discoveries, mediations, motions, and court appearances.
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff.

Qualifications

• Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
• Experience with civil litigation is an asset.
• Strong legal writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills fluent in English, and must be able to speak, read and/or write Chinese.

We offer base salary, plus performance bonus.
