Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our rheumatology clinic. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional administrative support in this collegial outpatient practice for one physician in a multi-practice clinic. This role involves managing patient interactions, maintaining electronic medical records, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Experience with Accuro, along with strong office and front desk skills, is essential. The Medical Office Assistant will serve as a vital link between patients and their physician, ensuring efficient workflow and excellent patient service.

Duties

  • Greet patients and visitors professionally at the front desk, providing a welcoming environment
  • Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages
  • Verify patient information and update electronic medical records accurately using Accuro EMR
  • Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, including collecting new patient forms and updating demographic information
  • Sanitize rooms between patient appointments
  • Prepare and organize patient charts and documentation in compliance with privacy regulations
  • Coordinate appointment scheduling and follow-up appointments to optimize provider schedules
  • Handle administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning documents, and managing correspondence
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front office area to ensure a professional appearance

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Medical Office Assistant preferred
  • Medical Office Assistant certification required
  • Proficiency with Accuro EMR preferred
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation standards
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and insurance providers
  • Demonstrated office experience with familiarity in multi-line phone systems and administrative procedures
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing schedules and records
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced healthcare environment is highly desirable

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
