We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Controller to lead our client's financial operations and ensure the integrity of their accounting practices. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of financial management, including reporting, compliance, and internal controls. Your expertise will support strategic financial planning, regulatory compliance, and transparency across the organization. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, leadership capability, and thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing using QuickBooks and ADP.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Prepare accurate financial statements, reports, and disclosures for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and manage month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, cost-saving opportunities, and revenue improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain strong internal controls, including double-entry bookkeeping practices, reconciliations, and audit readiness.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and banking relationships.
  • Support external audits by providing required documentation and facilitating efficient audit processes.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and payroll/accounting systems such as ADP.
  • Advanced technical accounting and financial reporting skills.
  • Expertise in balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and financial controls.
  • Solid understanding of cash management strategies, forecasting, and liquidity management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of full-cycle accounting experience.
  • Public accounting experience is considered an asset.
  • CPA designation is preferred but not required.
