• Enforce customs laws by conducting inspections of people, cargo containers,


• Facilitate legitimate trade and commerce through efficient clearance processes;


• Determine admissibility of individuals for entry into the United States based on regulations;


• Promote public safety by preventing smuggling activities including illicit goods ,
  counterfeit products,
  as well as other prohibited items.
