Border Patrol Agents play a vital role in safeguarding the United States by preventing and deterring illicit activity along our nation's borders.

The ideal candidate will be able to make sound judgments and decisions, analyze information rapidly, and communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. They must also be physically fit and able to work in challenging environments.

• Citizenship:   U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
  


• Age Restriction:   In accordance with Public Law , Border Patrol Agents must be referred for selection before reaching their 40th birthday.
  VRA eligibles may not have an age restriction if eligible under Title 5 U.S.C. 8336(c) or Title 5 U.S.C. 8412(d).
