Custom Protection Specialist

The role of a Border Patrol Agent is to protect the American people by safeguarding our borders, deterring illicit activity, and enhancing the nation's economic prosperity.

• Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and custom laws and inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations


• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers of noncitizens at or near the borders by maintaining surveillance from covert positions to include using infrared scopes during night operations


• Interpret physical evidence such as tracks, marks, etc. for identifying illegal entry into persons or contraband within designated sectors which may be miles apart;


• Note down details regarding observations taken while on duty so these could serve in any investigation carried out afterward when necessary.
  The Federal Law Enforcement Officer must analyze information quickly make prompt decisions exercise sound judgment use firearms appropriately deal with people respectfully gather concise data through observation questioning examination records enforce laws effectively maintain national security efficiently perform multiple tasks under pressure stay alert vigilant throughout shift duration accurately identify potential threats report incidents timely manner maintain order public safety prevent smuggling crime organized groups operate freely nationwide issue citations arrests seize property recover stolen goods cooperate law enforcement agencies liaison communicate clearly concisely provide assistance others times needed beyond regular working hours shifts overnight weekends holidays regardless personal sacrifice contribute protecting United States' integrity sovereignty existence peace stability protection well-being citizens residents alike.
