• Age Restriction: In accordance with Public Law , this position is covered under law enforcement retirement provisions; candidates must be referred for selection before reaching 40 years old unless exempt by prior federal service or VRA eligibility

To qualify at the GL-5 grade level, applicants must have at least one year of general work experience demonstrating ability to make sound decisions in stressful situations or complete a full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. For GL-7 qualification: One (1) year specialized work experience that demonstrates skills necessary using firearms effectively making arrests after completion required training applying these skills law enforcement capacity criminal code enforcement determining violations laws correctional rehabilitation security military etc OR bachelor's degree superior academic achievement based class standing GPA honor society membership graduate-level education related field e.g.  criminal justice homeland security justice studies forensic technology corrections rehabilitation) ,
