Job Summary

BORDER PATROL AGENT DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Detect and interrogate individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws by examining documents and personal belongings to verify citizenship or infractions.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented non-citizens and smugglers at or near the borders through covert surveillance, including infrared scopes during nighttime operations.
• Analyze tracks, marks, and other physical evidence indicating illegal entry of people or contraband.
• Maintain law enforcement presence in farms, buildings, traffic stops, and city patrols as part of this role.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent observation skills with attention to detail. The ability to think critically under pressure is crucial for making sound judgments while responding to situations encountered on duty. Effective communication skills are also essential for working with diverse groups involved in Border Patrol Agent duties. A strong work ethic coupled with a commitment to enforcing laws that protect public safety makes a suitable fit for this position.
The selected candidate should be comfortable adapting quickly to changing scenarios within dynamic environments such as those found along international borders. Experience operating specialized equipment used during border patrol operations would be advantageous but not necessary since training is provided upon selection.
