Protecting America's Borders: A Law Enforcement Career Opportunity

This is a career ladder position with the opportunity to progress from GL-5, through GL-7 and on to GS-12. You will be eligible for a promotion to the next higher grade level once you have successfully completed 52 weeks in each grade level.

Your typical assignments may include:

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration laws, inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations


• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens by maintaining surveillance from covert positions using infrared scopes during night operations


• Interpreting physical evidence of illegal entry such as tracks, marks, etc.


• Performing farm checks, building checks, traffic checks and city patrols using government vehicles at different locations across US borders
