Über

The Production Associate is responsible for the actual production or assembly of product using the assigned equipment/machinery of the department with safety, quality and productivity priorities in a team-oriented atmosphere. They are also responsible for promoting Hörmann Oro-Medonte values which will lead to their own as well as Hörmann Oro-Medonte's long term success.
Duties & Responsibilities -
Uses various types of hand tools and fixtures to assemble current heavy duty doors.
Maintains a clean work area and adheres to 5S procedures.
Completes tear downs and repairs as required.
Follows rotation schedule where provided.
Informs Unit Leader/Team Leader of all stock shortages, quality and downtime issues.
Follows work instructions as well as QMS procedures.
Identifies all nonconforming product by applying nonconforming product tag as required.
Uses proper FIFO practices for all product or materials.
Ensures that PPE is in good working condition and that it meets safety standards.-Remove
Follows company policies and procedures as well as SOPs.
Contributes to continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.
Loads, unloads and monitors production equipment.
Ensures all parts are correctly tagged or labelled.
Assists with equipment changes and machine adjustments as required.
Conducts visual quality assurance inspections to identify defective parts. Documents and/or escalates where necessary.
Monitors, records and documents data as required.
Performs operations in a manner consistent with Hörmann Barrie's objectives for quality, responsiveness, and cost.
Performs all functions in a safe manner.
Establishes and maintains effective communications with Team Leaders, Unit Leaders and other support teams (e.g. when leaving regular work area, advises Leader of whereabouts and length of departure).
Participates in training and cross training programs.
Conducts all activities in a professional manner and positive attitude with an emphasis on personal responsibility in order to assist in the department meeting its targets and goals.
Periodically performs other duties as assigned or required.
Reports and known hazards or safety violation they are aware of to their supervisor
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities -
Good communication skills
Interpersonal skills
Capable of following oral instructions
Able to read blueprints, drawings, layouts and other specifications
Able to work quickly, calmly, while adhering to our high quality and safety standards
Able to stand, bend or lift for extended periods of time
Must be able to discern colors and shades
Able to work shift work
Must have flexibility to work extra hours, on short notice, in order to meet internal/external customer requirements (scheduled and nonscheduled overtime shifts, etc.)
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS –
Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
Minimum 1-2 years' experience operating a counterbalance forklift
