ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Demonstrates subject matter expertise within areas of reporting, data warehouses, and/or business intelligence tools. Leads and mentors Data Analytics team in area of expertise. Works collaboratively with departmental personnel to facilitate and execute requests for cross-platform data, identifying and building data connections as needed. Manages and shapes analytics and reporting solutions, including technical and end-user documentation. Leads discovery, design and build sessions with database administrators and our team. Proficient in data cleansing, modelling, statistical analysis, and algorithms. Contributes to and assists in executing an analytical roadmap that meets organizational strategies and continues to enhance our overall data strategy. Maintains strong technical skills in programming, database management, and analytical tools. Keeps abreast of trends, best practices, and new developments pertaining to data management and analytics. Continues to enhance our metadata management to improve overall data integrity as well as provide our customers with standard glossaries and metric documentation. Maintains data integrity and security to keep data management systems current. Assists in managing vendor relationships. Performs other duties, tasks and specialized projects as assigned.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS Required Licenses and/or Certifications Epic Certification training should be attended at the first available class, and certification/accreditation in the applicable module(s) must be current or obtained within 30 calendar days of completing training.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Required Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, or relevant combination of education and experience. Five or more years of development experience. Five or more years of experience working with relational, columnar and/or flat databases. Five or more years of data reporting, analysis and mining experience.
Preferred Education and Experience Proficiency in data cleansing and/or data movement (ETL). Performance monitoring of reporting servers. Healthcare knowledge, preferably with Epic and/or Cerner.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proficient with complex joins, sub queries and stored procedures in SQL. Proficient with Business Intelligence tools (PowerBI, Cogito, Crystal, Clarity, SAP BO). Demonstrated leadership skills. Highly self-motivated and flexible. Proven ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines. Excellent technical coding skills with attention to detail, an ordered approach to problem solving, and a desire to produce high-quality and reliable data. Excellent communication skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
