My client, a highly reputable New York based Financial Services organisation, is looking to hire an accomplished Senior Systems/Network Engineer
This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a range of Systems and Networks projects.
This is an organisation with approximately 300 total staff and you will be joining a lean team of 5 covering Systems, Networks and Cloud on a major transformation project, therefore your ability to wear multiple hats and deliver optimal results in an extremely dynamic culture is paramount!
Role Responsibilities :
The organisation currently relies on a third-party outsourced provider (MSP) for the majority of its Networking and Infrastructure. The firm is looking to bring this back in house.
The role requires a strong overall technologist, a jack of all trades across Infrastructure, Cloud and Networks.
Selected tasks will include: managing the MSP relationship, designing and developing Network Architecture (Cisco Meraki, Native Cisco) and monitoring and optimising network performance, working closely with the Head of Technology to advise on what the network needs to look like both now and post MSP exit, managing Windows Server and Linux environments, managing Cloud services across Azure and AWS and helping to implement Security best practices across systems, networks and cloud.
Desired Skills: • Ambitious, entrepreneurial, go-getting mindset - proven ability to work in both a hands-on technical capacity and alongside senior stakeholders making complex decisions • Proven background gained in senior positions covering Networks, Systems and Cloud technology • Experience designing and developing Network architecture with Cisco Native and Meraki is ESSENTIAL for this position • Previous experience of working with or for an MSP, ideally with a view of exiting them from a business, very highly regarded • Detailed knowledge across both Network Engineering and Network Security • Multiple skills across Networks, Infrastructure (Windows Server, M365, Exchange Online, Email Security) and Cloud (Azure/AWS) • Exceptional communication skills ad the ability to communicate effectively with technical and no-technical stakeholders at all levels • Strong desire to work for a extremely dynamic, fast paced Financial Services environment
