Purpose of the Position
Reporting directly to the Plant Director, the Human Resources Director’s primary responsibility is to develop and implement HR strategies that support the company’s objectives. The role also plays a key part in talent management, organizational performance, and fostering a strong corporate culture that ensures a healthy and sustainable work environment, while complying with applicable policies and laws.
More specifically the candidate will have to ;

Actively participate on the management committee and execute the operational HR plan in alignment with company objectives (directions, budgets, executive follow-up).

Manage labour relations and sensitive HR matters (layoffs, terminations, union relations, disputes, psychosocial risks, etc.);

Ensure HR compliance (legal monitoring, immigration, contracts, ISO standards, health & safety, complex situations);

Develop and contribute to strategies for attracting, recruiting, and retaining talent;

Support a healthy and collaborative work climate, including through recognition activities (social club, recognition program, events, etc.);

Promote and support a workplace well-being culture while ensuring health and safety standards are upheld;

Identify and implement initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness and employee engagement;

Develop programs for skills development and career management;

Oversee talent management and internal mobility: daily coaching of managers on performance management, identification of high potential, talent reviews, and internal mobility decisions;

Ensure that all HR practices comply with applicable laws and regulations;

Lead the plant’s HR team.
Required Qualifications & Competencies

Strong knowledge of HR practices and applicable legal frameworks;

In-depth understanding of labour relations in a unionized environment;

Inspiring and motivating leadership;

Strong sense of urgency, rigor, discretion, and professional ethics;

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

Ability to manage priorities and perform in a dynamic and complex environment;

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, or a related field;

7 to 9 years of experience in strategic HR roles;
-
Bilingual (English/French) (an asset);
-
Experience in manufacturing environments (an asset);

CHRP/CRHA or equivalent certification (an asset).
