Job Responsibilities
* Evaluate patients’ functional status, including muscle function, endurance, visual coordination, communication skills, self-care abilities, and work capacity. Participate in the development of individualized care plans.
* Develop treatment programs and establish functional goals for improvement. Communicate care plans with the referring physician and healthcare team, and create caregiver-focused programs such as energy conservation techniques.
* Teach new skills or retrain patients in the use of adaptive equipment to promote independence and improve daily function.
* Fabricate and fit splints as needed, and retrain patients in daily living activities affected by illness or injury.
* Train patients and family/caregivers in the safe use of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices.
* Maintain accurate clinical records and progress notes, reporting any changes in patient condition to the physician promptly.
* Collaborate and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure coordinated and efficient care delivery.
* Attend and actively contribute to in-service training, interdisciplinary case conferences, and other required meetings to support patient care and organizational goals.
* Educate patients, families, caregivers, and team members on treatment regimens and rehabilitation strategies.
* Actively participate in Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives and activities.
* Contribute to discharge planning to ensure safe, effective, and appropriate transitions of care.
Qualifications
* *Education:* Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
* *Licensure:* Current Occupational Therapist license in the State of Michigan (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date).
* *Certification:* Current CPR certification preferred.
* Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team and demonstrate compassion, patience, and professionalism.
Job Types: Part-time, PRN
Pay: From $40.00 per hour
