Border Patrol Agent Role

The U.S. Border Patrol offers an exciting opportunity for individuals to work with a highly trained team of law enforcement professionals in protecting America's borders.

This career position requires the ability to detect and prevent illegal entry, smuggling, and other illicit activities along the border.

• Qualifications:  A bachelor's degree or one year of general work experience that demonstrates sound decision-making skills under stressful situations, including learning regulations and techniques through classroom training or on-the-job instruction. 


• Skills:  Learners must be able to analyze information rapidly and make prompt decisions while interacting effectively with people in a courteous manner, especially during law enforcement matters .

The following training courses are essential:
making arrests using firearms,
driver training,
effective communication skills (English/Spanish),
surveillance from covert positions.
