Role: Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
Status: Full-Time, Regular

Reports to: Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
Location: Markham (Birchmount)
Compensation: $98,248 - $144,425
Please note that the compensation range listed includes base salary and potential incentive pay. Incentives such as bonuses are not guaranteed and depend on individual performance and company results. Actual compensation within the range will be determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications.


Summary:

As a Finance Manager, you will play a key role in managing financial matters and delivering strategic business support to Information Technology (IT), the Project Management Office (PMO), and a broad range of functional support. As part of the FP&A team, this role contributes to operational planning, performance management, cross-functional initiatives, and enterprise-wide financial governance. You will collaborate with senior leaders and functional teams across Enercare, providing insights that drive business results and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:


Strategic Planning and Performance 

  • Partner with IT and functional leaders to lead strategic planning sessions; prepare multi‑year operating and capital plans
  • Develop and maintain financial models for key corporate items/initiatives (e.g., procurement related items, lease vs. buy, departmental spend models).
  • Present financial performance in monthly business reviews, providing insights into performance drivers, trends, and updated forecast outlooks.
  • Track and report IT and functional performance KPIs, including capitalization metrics, labour tracking, vendor efficiency, and spend optimization.
  • Provide recommendations to improve cost efficiency across IT and functional activities.
  • Support development and enhancement of internal controls related to functional operating expenses and project expenditures.

Budgeting and Financial Management

  • Lead a flexible IT, PMO, and SG&A budgeting, forecasting, and reporting process aligned with corporate and departmental strategic objectives.
  • Manage monthly performance reviews, identifying key drivers and risk/opportunity areas.
  • Perform month-end close activities for, including accruals, journal entries, and review of POs generated by Vendor Management.
  • Lead and maintain the IT and SG&A cost allocation framework across the Enercare organization.
  • Provide financial support and guidance to IT leaders, project managers, and functional heads on budgeting processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Review invoices, vendor contracts, and purchase orders for IT and functional categories to assess financial impact and ensure compliance.

Project Management and Collaboration

  • Support the PMO with the Initiative Review Board (IRB) by reviewing and validating business cases for capital, operating costs, and benefits.
  • Partner with PMO and IT teams on project budgeting, forecasting, governance, and performance tracking.
  • Participate in contract reviews and negotiations to assess financial, operational, and budgetary impacts for IT and functional vendors.
  • Support implementation and financial process alignment related to new project management tools or enterprise planning systems.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Oversee the SR&ED (Scientific Research & Experimental Development) process, ensuring accurate tracking and documentation of eligible expenditures.
  • Monitor IT and functional activities to ensure adherence to Enercare's accounting policies under IFRS; provide coaching and clarification to business partners.
  • Ensure all financial reporting aligns with corporate standards, internal audit requirements, and FP&A best practices.

Qualifications

  • Accounting/Finance/Business Degree and a professional designation (CPA, CFA, MFin, MBA) required.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of financial analysis and business partnering experience supporting IT, PMO, or SG&A functions.
  • Experience working in Big Four accounting firm considered an asset.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with experience partnering with diverse stakeholder groups at multiple levels.
  • Proven experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership and preparing materials for executive/board-level review.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling proficiency; ability to independently build and maintain complex models.
  • Experience with contract management, procurement processes, or operational finance is an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter who can manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
