IT Summer Student

Mancal Corporation is seeking a Summer Student to support the development of Power BI reports and dashboards as part of our enterprise data and analytics program. This role will focus on transforming data from an existing data lake into clear, insightful, and well-designed reporting solutions that support business decision-making. The successful candidate will have prior hands-on experience developing Power BI reports and will work closely with IT and business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver effective visual analytics.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI reports and dashboards
• Leverage data from an existing enterprise data lake to support reporting needs
• Collaborate with business users to gather, clarify, and document report requirements
• Design intuitive and visually effective dashboards using data visualization best practices
• Apply creative approaches to presenting information and solving reporting challenges
• Perform basic testing and validation to ensure data accuracy and reliability
• Maintain documentation for reports, data sources, and assumptions

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a college or university program in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Demonstrated experience developing Power BI reports or dashboards (academic, co-op, internship, or personal projects)
• Working knowledge of Power BI visualization and dashboard design concepts
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic experience with SQL or querying structured datasets
• Familiarity with data lakes, data warehouses, or cloud-based data platforms
• Exposure to DAX or data modeling concepts
