General Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical General Accountant to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting strategic financial planning.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has strong hands-on experience with full-cycle accounting and QuickBooks.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
• Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
• Conduct account reconciliations and assist with audit preparation
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Support payroll processing and related reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with company policies and Canadian regulatory requirements (CRA, HST, payroll remittances, etc.)
• Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and internal controls

Qualifications & Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks
• Solid understanding of AP, AR, bank reconciliation, and financial reporting
• Experience with Canadian payroll (Dayforce) and statutory remittances is an asset
• Knowledge of budgeting and corporate finance principles
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA designation or in progress is an asset)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
