Position Overview
We're looking for a motivated, experienced Travel Professional to join our growing team. This is a
commission-based role
—perfect for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for travel. If you have an existing client base, you're welcome to bring it with you (subject to your current agency agreements).
Key Responsibilities
- Design and book customized travel experiences for individual and group clients.
- Manage client relationships from inquiry to post-travel follow-up.
- Handle your own invoicing with precision and attention to detail as per provincial industry guidelines.
- Communicate effectively via Outlook, Teams, Travefy, and other digital platforms.
- Potential opportunities to participate in Gravitate Travel's Travel Talks supplier-consumer events to grow your client base.
- Stay current on travel trends, supplier updates, and destination knowledge.
- Being a team player, our team members are not silos, we share knowledge and help each other for the greater good of the agency.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years' experience preferred:
- • Independent contractor, or previous agency owner
- • Full-time agency role (Monday–Friday) with high-volume bookings
- Strong professionalism and positive, proactive attitude.
- Tech-savvy: Outlook, Teams, Trafefy, Word required; ClientLinq CRM/invoicing experience preferred and SIREV.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills. This is a must for our agency which handles a high volume of groups, cruises and river cruises.
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and take responsibility for your work.
Ideal Candidate
- Minimum 5+ years selling cruises, river cruises, custom itineraries and all-inclusive vacations.
- Bonus: Experience in luxury travel (servicing HNW clients with budgets over $75,000).
- Client centric attitude, you want to provide the best service from start to finish.
- Familiarity with Manulife travel insurance is an asset.
- Basic social media knowledge, we do this for you but you need to know how things work, respond to inquiries on your own Gravitate branded page (Facebook and Instagram).
- Ability to travel annually for host agency conference. Mandatory once within your first 2 years at Gravitate based on start date.
- Destination Experience: Preferably well-traveled to many of these key destinations: France, Italy, United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Asia, Caribbean.
- Professionalism in Business Travel: Discounted or educational travel opportunities are earned—not assumed. When traveling for business purposes, you represent the Gravitate Travel brand. These trips are for learning and professional development, not leisure.
- Responsible for developing in depth knowledge of assigned destinations, building strong relationships with suppliers, and consistently upholding the highest standards of professionalism. Adheres to all corporate policies governing FAM and group travel, including established expectations for conduct and representation.
- A basic knowledge of the Air Canada Connex system is a plus
- Experience with group travel and/or corporate travel is a plus

Additional Requirements
- Licensing: Must hold or be willing to obtain TICO certification in Ontario.
- Startup Costs: Includes TICO licensing, 1 week of training with our host agency (virtually), and home office setup (computer, printer, desk, chair).
- Financial Management: Bookkeeping and accounting are your responsibility (recommendations available).
- Travel: Educational trips are at your expense but may be claimed as a business deduction.
- Obtaining a GST/HST number
- Technology: Gravitate provides a basic MS Office setup online; any additional programs are at your cost.
- Commission Timing: Commissions are paid after supplier payment and client travel completion. Payments are made twice monthly.
- Insurance: Errors & Omissions coverage is provided up to a certain amount by our host agency; any additional business insurance is at your cost.
- Client Acquisition: This is an entrepreneurial role—client acquisition is primarily self-driven, supported by:
- Gravitate's strong SEO presence and lead distribution via our website form
- In-house Travel Talks events introducing clients to suppliers
- Local advertising in newspapers, radio, organic social media and paid media Google ads
- Must be eligible to legally work in Canada
