Project Manager – Hollow Metal & Wood Door Division
About Limitless Automatics & Doors
Limitless Automatics & Doors is an Alberta-based company specializing in automatic entrances, hollow metal and wood doors, frames, and complex door hardware packages. We support a high volume of new construction and retrofit projects across commercial, institutional, and mixed-use environments.
Our reputation is built on preparation, follow-through, and solving problems before they reach the site. As our hollow metal and wood door division continues to grow in both Calgary & Edmonton, we're looking for a highly organized Project Manager to take ownership of this scope and help elevate how we plan, coordinate, and deliver projects.
About the Role
This is a high-impact Project Manager role focused primarily on hollow metal and wood door projects (Div 8 & 10). You will be responsible for managing 20+ active new construction projects at various stages, ensuring they are properly planned, supplied, coordinated, and executed.
You do not need a background in automatic doors — we have strong internal support for that. What we need is a rock-solid hollow metal, wood door, and door hardware expert who understands construction sequencing, site readiness, coordination with general contractors and electricians, and how to keep multiple moving parts aligned.
This role will act as a key operational leader and trusted partner to our General Manager — someone who keeps projects moving, protects relationships, and helps implement stronger systems and procedures as the company continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
- Take full ownership of hollow metal and wood door projects from award through installation and closeout
- Manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining clarity on timelines, manpower, scope, and priorities
- Proactively identify risks, conflicts, and gaps, and resolve them before they impact the field
- Keep projects moving forward while maintaining strong, professional relationships with GCs, consultants, and internal teams
Site Coordination, Readiness & Follow-Through
- Regularly attend and check in on active job sites to confirm readiness, monitor progress, and identify issues early
- Document site conditions and installation progress through detailed notes and photos, uploading progress images and updates into company software
- Coordinate directly with general contractors, site supers, and electricians regarding:
- Rough opening sizes
- Frame conditions and backing
- Power, wiring, and conduit requirements
- Access, orientations, sequencing, and site constraints
- Confirm site readiness before dispatching technicians or subcontractors to avoid false starts and inefficiencies
- Manage project closeouts, ensuring:
- All work is completed to scope and quality standards
- Deficiencies are addressed promptly
- Required documentation and sign-offs are completed
- Follow up with customers and project teams after completion to gather feedback and ensure satisfaction
- Review job costings after project completion to evaluate performance, identify lessons learned, and uncover opportunities to improve processes, estimating accuracy, and execution going forward
Materials, Ordering & Scheduling
- Work closely with the Project Coordinator and Purchaser to ensure:
- All doors, frames, hardware, and accessories are accurately ordered
- Lead times are tracked and actively managed
- Deliveries are coordinated, staged, and aligned with site readiness
- Confirm materials match drawings, specifications, and site conditions
- Adjust schedules proactively when site conditions, lead times, or priorities change
Team & Trade Management
- Coordinate and manage technicians and subcontractors for installations
- Ensure crews are dispatched with complete, accurate turnover packages
- Support the field by answering questions, resolving issues, and maintaining momentum
- Maintain accountability while preserving strong working relationships
Process Improvement & Leadership
- Help develop and refine project management procedures, checklists, and workflows
- Identify inefficiencies and implement practical, scalable solutions
- Bring structure and consistency to how projects are managed and documented
- Act as a trusted resource and sounding board for operational decisions
Who You Are
- A Project Manager with strong experience in hollow metal and/or wood door projects with door hardware
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to juggle many moving parts at once
- Comfortable managing volume, complexity, and competing priorities
- Confident communicating with general contractors, electricians, suppliers, and internal teams
- Calm under pressure, with thick skin and the ability to keep things moving without damaging relationships
- An organized and proactive problem-solver who anticipates issues rather than reacts to them
- Experienced in construction sequencing, site coordination, and material logistics
- Tech-comfortable and willing to use software for project tracking, documentation, and reporting
- Someone who takes ownership and genuinely cares about doing things properly
Nice to Have (but not required)
- Exposure to automatic door systems (training available)
- Experience helping build or improve project management systems and procedures
What We Offer
- Competitive salary, based on experience and leadership level
- Company vehicle or mileage reimbursement
- Health & dental benefits
- Paid industry training and professional development, including courses and certifications such as DHI, AAADM, PMP, and other relevant programs.
- A senior, trusted role with real influence on how projects are run
- Support from an experienced internal team — you won't be doing this alone
- A company that values preparation, accountability, and respectful relationships
- Long-term growth potential as the company continues to expand

This is a role for someone who wants:
