Pink Palm Puff is a fast growing ecommerce fashion brand with operations across North America and internationally. As we continue to scale, we are looking for a detail oriented Financial Reporting Manager to strengthen financial oversight, reporting accuracy, and inventory controls.

This role will play a critical part in ensuring leadership has clear, timely, and accurate financial insight to support strategic decision making and sustainable growth.

Position Overview

The Financial Reporting Manager will be responsible for overseeing monthly financial reporting, inventory accounting, internal controls, and standard financial reporting processes. This role requires strong technical accounting expertise, experience in ecommerce or inventory driven environments, and the ability to operate independently in a remote setting.

A Canadian CPA designation is required.

You will work closely with operations, logistics, and leadership to ensure financial data accurately reflects business performance and inventory flow.

Key Responsibilities

Monthly Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and deliver accurate monthly financial statements including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement
  • Lead and manage full month end and year end close processes
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and oversee journal entries
  • Provide detailed monthly variance analysis and financial commentary to leadership
  • Prepare management reporting packages and executive summaries

Financial Controls and Compliance

  • Develop and maintain internal financial controls and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Support external accountants and auditors during audit and review processes
  • Assist with tax reporting coordination and compliance requirements
  • Identify financial risks and recommend process improvements

Planning, Forecasting, and Analysis

  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Assist with cash flow forecasting and working capital management
  • Analyze gross margins, operational costs, and expense trends
  • Build financial models to support decision making
  • Provide financial insights to leadership to guide strategic planning

Inventory Management and Reporting

  • Oversee inventory accounting, valuation, and reconciliation processes
  • Ensure accurate tracking of inventory costs, landed costs, freight allocation, and cost of goods sold
  • Partner with logistics and operations to reconcile physical inventory counts with financial records
  • Monitor inventory turnover, aging, and shrinkage metrics
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls over inventory processes
  • Produce regular inventory valuation schedules and reporting

Required Qualifications

  • Active Canadian CPA designation, required
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting or financial reporting experience
  • Experience in ecommerce, retail, or inventory based businesses
  • Strong understanding of inventory accounting and cost accounting principles
  • Experience managing full month end and year end close processes
  • Deep knowledge of Canadian accounting standards
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in accounting software systems
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong financial modeling capability
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Suite
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite
  • Experience working with inventory management systems and ecommerce platforms
