Role Summary

The Business Transformation Advisor (BTA) supports clients and the Business Transformation Executive in preparing and delivering client-facing materials, contributing to Executive Business Reviews (EBRs), identifying opportunities for infrastructure refresh and automation, and implementing Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) improvements under guidance.

This role works closely with the Business Transformation, Service Experience and Professional Services teams to build proposals, develop multi‑year budgets, and surface opportunities. This role is designed as a growth path toward a senior Business Transformation position. The successful candidate will receive mentorship, exposure to client strategy discussions, and progressive responsibility over time.

This role is based out of Nucleus HQ in Vancouver, BC, but the successful candidate can work remotely from within Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Engage with stakeholders across all levels (operations, finance, leadership) to understand business processes and improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct structured discovery to understand client business needs, operational challenges, and growth objectives.
  • Prepare IT scorecards, asset lifecycle summaries, risk registers, and roadmap drafts for Executive Business Reviews (EBRs).
  • Maintain standardized EBR templates and ensure data accuracy.
  • Perform assessments to identify process automation or modernization initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency gains or technology upgrades, recommending IT projects, cloud migrations and cybersecurity improvements.
  • Support clients in adopting best practices in IT governance and security.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure delivery alignment and client satisfaction.

  • Attend regular client meetings.

  • Travel, when necessary, to client offices and/or operating sites; including planning and coordination of travel itineraries.
  • Support clients through change management activities, including stakeholder engagement, communication planning, and adoption strategies.
  • Provide guidance and expertise throughout project cycles, including guiding project completions when acting as the executive advisor and overseeing Third Party and Vendor Management programs.
  • Draft, update, and maintain client IT policies aligned with industry certifications, using approved templates:

    • CyberSecure Canada Level 1 & 2
  • NIST CSF Level 1
  • Work with internal technical teams to ensure proposed solutions are scoped correctly and align with client needs.
  • Provide support with pre-sales discovery, proposal preparation, and client presentations.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in business transformation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5 years experience in an MSP, IT consulting, or IT coordination/analyst role.
  • Strong understanding of modern IT environments (Microsoft 365, networking basics, cybersecurity fundamentals).
  • Ability to write clear policies aligned to frameworks such as CyberSecure Canada and NIST CSF.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • An understanding of IT asset lifecycle management, risk scoring, and roadmap development.
  • Familiarity with process mapping and identifying automation opportunities (Power Automate, workflow tools, etc.)

  • A solid IT background and the ability to keep up to date with advancements of the field.

  • Strong understanding of business operations, IT systems, and digital strategy.

  • Experience leading Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) or executive-level client engagements is preferred.
  • An understanding of PIPEDA/GDPR/CCPA privacy standards, and other frameworks is preferred.
