About the Role

As a Junior Fabricator / Welder, you will support the fabrication team in producing structural and industrial steel components. Working alongside experienced fabricators and supervisors, you'll gain hands-on exposure to fitting, layout, welding, blueprint reading, and quality control standards.

This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to learn, is dependable, puts safety first, and is ready to grow within a professional steel fabrication operation.

Key Responsibilities

Welding & Fabrication

· Perform welding tasks under supervision and in accordance with company and CWB standards

· Read and interpret fabrication drawings and basic weld symbols

· Assist with layout, fitting, and material preparation

· Set up and use fabrication tools and equipment safely

· Perform cutting, fitting, and welding of structural steel components

Production & Quality Control

· Assist in verifying measurements and tolerances against shop drawings

· Support fit-up checks prior to final welding

· Maintain consistent workmanship and attention to detail

· Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe

Safety & Communication

· Follow all company health, safety, and environmental procedures

· Participate in safety meetings and proactively report any safety hazards or near misses

· Communicate clearly with supervisors, QC, and team members

· Ask questions and seek guidance to continuously improve skills

Skills & Qualifications

· A minimum of 1 year of related welding experience

· Completion of a Welder Fitter College program is preferred

· Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols

· Experience with SMAW, FCAW, or GMAW processes

· CWB certification is a definite asset, but not required

· Strong willingness to learn and take direction

· Reliable, safety-conscious, self-motivated, and team-oriented

· Comfortable working in a fast-paced production-driven shop environment

· Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities
